Record labels used to be a principle source for finding new music. Now they definitely still play a part, but their importance has lessened some with emergence of music blogs. With that said, I still follow my favorite record labels as a great way to introduce me to new music
My formula for favorite record labels is currently:
- 25% – Number of Different Albums
- 25% – Number of Different Artists
- 20% – Number of 5 Star Albums
- 5% – Number of 4 Star Albums
- 5% – Average Song Rating
- 5% – Average Album Rating
- 5% – Minutes Listened to Label
- 5% – Total number of listens
- 5% – Total number of songs on Label
If you have a better idea on how to do it, welcome the feedback.
